Membership

The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee plays and active role in preserving horse trails and working with park officials to create and/or expand existing trails in Nebraska.  Through our fundraising efforts, we have made improvements in horse camps and at trail heads.  Our committee hosts the Nebraska Horse Trail Riding Expo and the NHTC Trail Challenge annually to raise funds for our projects.  We encourage and support participation in trail clearings.

General Membership is open to anyone who supports horse trail riding in Nebraska.  Attend our meetings and functions and be part of our active membership distribution to discuss projects and trail-related issues.  Participate in our various committees that make a difference in the horse trail riding communities.

Active Voting Membership is granted to General Members who:

  • Attend a minimum of three of the 6 board meetings (or 50% if greater) scheduled in the calendar year in person or virtually.  While our meetings are most often held in Lincoln, members may join via Zoom video or by teleconference.

  • Participate in three NHTC fundraisers, trail clearings or other NHTC approved activities which demonstrate your commitment to the organization

Optional Liability Coverage for Members

Members of the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee can upgrade their membership to include personal liability coverage of $1,000,000 policy limit through Equisure. This coverage protects members from claims arising from the use and/or ownership of a horse and for horse-related accidents involving third-party bodily injury or property damage. Coverage will apply when engaged in a horse-related activity and coverage is more than any existing valid and collectible insurance. This coverage is valid month of enrollment through December 31 of the current year. (Must have NHTC membership in place to be eligible for this coverage.)

Let your passion help our cause.  Regardless of your membership level or participation, your dues to our organization help support our trail projects. Guests and volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings and events.
