Partnering with the Great Outdoors.

On April 29th the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee Chairman, Mike Anderson along with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Summit Lake SRA Park Superintendent, Jordan Swenson, and Amanda Trudell of Pony Tale Media attended the Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities 2026 Conference in Burt County Nebraska.

The title of our breakout session was

Partnering with the Great Outdoors

We were asked to lead a breakout session explaining how local volunteer groups can work with area land managers to improve the outdoor experience for everyone.

The title of our session was: Partnering with the Great Outdoors.

The description was: Summit Lake SRA in Tekamah has better utilized its landscape to serve a broader range of outdoor enthusiasts. Starting with a small group of horse trail advocates, the trail use at Summit Lake has increased exponentially by hoof and foot–ultimately bringing in new business to the park and its local community. Hear how they did it and learn what it means to put “your skin in the game” when it comes to better enjoying the great outdoors.

We at the NHTC would like to thank those that attended the session along with the organizers of the event for asking us to present.

P.S. As we gave our presentation with windows facing main street Tekamah, we pointed out to those attending the horse trailers driving by on their way to a beautiful Wednesday night ride at Summit Lake.
