The NHTC continues to partner with the GOATz organization in keeping Lake Cunningham trails open for all trail users. It is great to have other trail users as enthusiastic about this great park.
HYDRANTS & WHEELBARROWS AT ROCK CREEK STATION
The NHTC partnered with Starr Plumbing from Fairbury to install water lines for new hydrants at the horse camp at Rock Creek Station. New wheel barrows were also donated and delivered by our organization thanks to all of you who have supported our fund raising efforts!
BRANCHED OAK AREA 2 & 3
The NHTC has spent a lot of time this past year at Branched Oak Lake opening up old trails, creating new trails and working on what we hope is a 5 year plan so they won't keep growing closed. Anytime we post a clearing at Branched Oak, we would like to have volunteers join us. Many hands make light work! Thank you to the volunteers who helped on this project. Work continues.
Mike Anderson and Keith, Kyle and Lee Vering installed 2 pods of four corrals each (total of 8) at the Two Rivers Equestrian Campground this weekend. Another improvement made possible by your participation in our Expo or other fund raising events.
Dave & Sherry Reeble lead a crew in clearing the horse trails at Two Rivers.
New Hydrants at Branched Oak State Rec.
HYDRANTS
You may have noticed that each of the corral pods at Branched Oak Lake and the primitive camping area now have access to a nearby hydrant thanks to NHTC crew lead, Richard Newberg and Wade Luther and volunteers.
Congratulations to Christine Wilson & the Friends of Peckerneck Trail on raising almost $1,100 for maintenance on that trail. The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee had offered to match donations up to $500. A check was issued to Dave Wolf, the caretaker or Peckerneck Trail, in the amount of $500. Thank you for attending this event and supporting horse trails in our state.
